Carmack has taught printmaking at the University of Maryland and at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, where she lived for thirty-three years.  She has been the recipient of two Maryland State Art Council grants and numerous art fellowships.  Currently she lives and works in Okatie, South Carolina.

In Print, an exhibition of mixed media monoprints, hangs through the end of month, coinciding with the Southern Graphics Council International conference in New Orleans.
